Annual Giving Campaign 2024-25

The Power of 7 (GIS)

On 1st September, 2025, Ghana International School will be 70 years old! We are marking seven decades of educational excellence by giving back to the community and sharing our privilege through “The Power of 7”, our 2024-25 Annual Giving Campaign.

We are inviting every member of the Ghana International School community to donate any Ghana Cedi amount that is a combination of 7 and 0, whether it’s GHS 7, GHS 70, GHS 700, GHS 7000, GHS 70,000, or any other amount that combines 7s and 0s.

Funds raised through The Power of 7 will be channeled towards improving the quality of education for students and educators beyond the GIS community–a cause which reflects our values and commitment to community service.

FAQs

Do I have to give every month?
If you give once, it counts as participation for the entire academic year. However, a donor may choose to give as many times as they wish and to as many constituencies as they belong to.
Can I donate in a currency other than Ghana Cedis?
Yes you can, if you are giving electronically! Whichever amount you give will automatically be converted to Ghana Cedis once the transaction is complete.
Can I participate if I’m not based in Ghana?
Absolutely! We aim to achieve 100% participation, no matter where our community members are based.
What does “100% participation” mean?
100% participation means that every member of every constituency that is currently registered in our community databases makes a donation between 7th October 2024 and the end of the academic year.
What if I’m part of more than one constituency?
A single donation may count towards all of your constituencies. Contact us at the GIS Office of the CEO (+233-20-005-6496) and we’ll update our participation records accordingly. You may also choose to make separate donations towards each of your constituencies.

Learning Fellowships

Donations through The Power of 7 could support a GIS education for students from the broader Ghanaian community.

Our learning fellowships are merit and need-based scholarships which allow students from underserved communities to attend Ghana International School. These include boarding and tuition fees.

We currently support two students through the GIS Learning Fellowships. Your support would ensure that the school can continue to support these students throughout their secondary school education.

Expanding Access to Science, Arts and Sports Programmes

Our numerous programmes allow students from various schools to benefit from GIS’s resources.

For over 20 years, Ghana International School has provided weekly science lab access to students from La Anglican Senior High School. We also invite students from various schools to participate in our cultural and artistic educational events such as the biennial GIS Musical and arTRYx festival.

Students from schools like La Anglican, Accra Girls, Labone SHS, Aquinas, and La Wireless have benefitted from these programs so far. We need your support to ensure that this continues.

Professional Development for Teachers Across Ghana

Our annual TIME Educators Conference serves and develops the skills of teachers across Ghana.

The TIME Educators Conference is an annual event fostering professional growth and exchange among teachers from various schools, during which GIS educators lead seminars and workshops. The conference currently serves between 400 and 600 teachers from across Ghana and for educators who attend from underprivileged school districts, the entire conference is 100% subsidised.
